Brandon Hollinger was announced as the winner at EVCCON 2011, Saturday, September 24th, 2011.

In September, 2010, EVTV announced a contest whereby viewers would submit an entry to win a set of components for building an Electric Vehicle. EVTV provided 50 China Aviation Lithium Battery Company 180Ah cells, sufficient for a pack of 167 volts and 30 kWh - sufficient for a range of 120 miles max in a typical car or just under a hundred miles to 80% discharge. Netgain Motors contributed their new Warp9 motor with some 26 improvements just deployed at that time. EVnetics contributed a Soliton1 controller, capable of 1000 amps continuous power. And Rechargecar contributed a magnetic pickup to detect RPM. Masterflux contributed an air conditioning compressor that runs off of the 167 vdc pack. We never did find a suitable charger sponsor for the event.

Some 955 entries were received with each describing what they would do with the components and what about themselves would lead us to believe they would be both timely and successful.

By May, 2011, each sponsor had selected two contest entries as "finalists". These finalists each receive an opportunity to appeal to our viewers via the website to describe their project and themselves in further detail. Those pages are presented here for your consideration.

Final selection of the contest winner will be made by EVTV viewers who will "vote" for the one contest entry they deem most likely to complete a succesful build that will have the greatest impact on the world of electric cars. One vote per viewer IP number actually and we will watch closely for automated "campaigns" etc in the voting process. Viewers will actually have to identify themselves to cast a ballot.

Balloting will continue through August 31, 2011 and the winner will be announced at the Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention (EVCCON) September 21-25th, 2011 in Cape Girardeau Missouri.

We would like to thank all those who shared their build plans with us during the contest by entering and encourage them to continue their dreams and plans for an electric vehicle conversion. We congratulate the ten finalists for their selection and extend our most sincere hopes for their success in the contest. At this point, it becomes a matter of consideration for our viewers, who will of course make the final selection. Good luck to all.
